It often appears as a small blue or blue-gray blur as it whirls around in the afternoon sunshine, coming
to rest on the leaves of small trees and plants. They can be found along old roads and trails in wooded areas
with an abundance of oaks.
The white lines are variable, as shown in the top right photo. Unlike Striped and King's hairstreaks,
Bandeds lack the orange cap on the large blue spot just below the second tail.
Flight: May - mid June.
Wingspan: 31 to 34 mm.
